Locally Sourced, Globally Connected

“Hello” or “Well” as we say here in Clonmel – Camida’s hometown and Headquarters. I am a South Tipperary woman born and bred, hailing from the small village of Kilsheelan nestled on the banks of the river Suir just outside Clonmel.

I spent my secondary school years in Loreto Convent which is just across the bridge from our Camida Headquarters. A view that provides a gentle reminder of my teenage years!

I have been a part of the Camida Team for the last sixteen years, starting in the logistics team, moving on to the sourcing team and then transitioning into a sales role working as a dedicated customer account manager since 2013.

I consider myself very privileged to have such a varied role, working with my customer’s sites in over twenty different international locations, a story which began with local supply to one Irish site. That’s the thing with Camida; while based in Clonmel we have the flexibility, capability, and ambition to make things happen anywhere in the world.

Since joining Camida, I have seen the company grow and flourish. We have almost doubled in staff and office space in that time. Following our move in 2017, we have expanded our offices again here in Clonmel, which now comprise of three townhouses that originally date back to 1830’s. These renovations are a mix of maintaining traditional features and history with a modern flare. Camida has a prime location at the entrance to the Suir Blueway which runs for 21km along the East Munster Way into the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains, until it rejoins the Blueway at Kilsheelan Bridge. It’s definitely worth a visit and it’s not a long way to go!

I am proud to be part of the positive impact that Camida has in our hometown and of how this sense of family and community spirit reflects in our relationships with customers, suppliers and partners in our wider global community. So yes, I was locally sourced but my working day takes me on a trip around the globe!
