Challenge
Life sciences companies rely on suppliers they can trust. We work with leading names in the industry and pride ourselves on being able to deliver, from procurement needs to beyond, to offer superior customer service, support, and bespoke solutions.
In one instance, a global player who we have worked with for over a decade needed a specific material, a quaternary ammonium salt, that had been discontinued. Without it, their work would be severely delayed, so they looked to us for help.
In another challenge, a global biotech leader, who we’ve worked with for a number of years, needed a custom synthesis for a coenzyme derivative, so they turned to us, and we got to work.
Solution
For the first challenge, a discontinued material used as a phase transfer catalyst, we found alternative options immediately to present to our client, however we knew they didn’t have time to approve a new source, so we contacted the manufacturer in Asia to find a solution. We had worked with them for years, so were able to proactively negotiate the production of a custom run, just for our client.
For our biotech client, we searched high and low to find a suitable supplier that could produce the custom synthesis required. We supplied all documentation required for approval and sample batches were tested and passed validation. We also ensured the manufacturer carried out stability tests to ensure that a 6-month shelf life can be guaranteed.
Results
Thanks to our strong relationships, proactive approach, and industry know-how, we were able to avoid the use of unwanted alternatives that would come with lengthy approval processes, which for one client would have delayed production and implicated loss, and for the other client would have delayed the production of life-saving drugs.
This helps to further strengthen the trust and confidence our clients have in us. It’s only from working with suppliers for years that we can make special requests to ensure our clients don’t get slowed down, or to find the one supplier in the world who can produce exactly what’s needed, when it’s needed.
